>We still look forward to our first visual contact with Northern Orioles. >No insects swarming in evening skies yet. Night temperatures are to drop again >within freezing, so not too much green showing. This week if >high temps. hover within 50-60 F range we will probably have leaves breaking >from dormacy. Day Lilies on South side of house grew two inches (from >morn-night)in height (Hemerocallis). I expect Honeysuckle bushes to break >into greenery by Thursday if this keeps up. > >Many small birds returned for spring nesting, and their cheerful calls >are a welcome sound. We have five adult Hawks circling above area farms >as they search for something to dine upon. We know the first pair are >mates. The three others fly together as a second group,...perhaps less >mature. Local black crows are very upset with so many Red-Tails in area. > >A song sparrow and a Kildeere (sp?) were singing Sunday-late afternoon) > >We expect the return of our five Turkey Vult
