On Thursday, March 20, 1997, we sat outside in a meadow on our playground after lunch. From 1:15 to 1:45 we counted 17 monarchs flying overhead and stopping at the flowers. We captured 5 monarchs to show other classes and then released them all on Friday. We only saw one monarch last fall.
