Monarch Adult Sighted

Today I tried to work in the yard, but monarch after monarch kept interrupting. I finally gave up and tried to catch a few, without much luck. I decided to take a drive through the countryside to see if they were in other parts of the county. Just outside of town one hit the windshield. I stopped and retrived it, it was a male. I got to one area that had big pastures on both sides of the road and I could see several monarchs moving and nectaring on some yellow flowers. I stopped, and over the next hour I must have chased dozens of monarchs around the field. I managed to catch 5, all males. I'm hoping to collect a few for an Earth Day release by a first grade class here in Monticello. I continued driving making about a sixty mile loop. I saw monarchs the whole way. All moving from west to east. Near the town of McGehee, wild plum trees were in bloom and dozens of monarchs were seen.

Update: April 1, 2004I remember that
day and I haven't had one like it since. I still make the drive hoping that I
will have the experience again.
