Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 03/23/1997

Number: 1

I was vacationing in Navarre Beach over spring break and obse a Monarch on Sunday and two more on Monday, March 24. I was not able to get close enough to check the quality of their wings. It was nice to see them. A sure sign of spring and summer, however, living in Wisconsin it will be a long time before we see any. Navarre Beach is located on a barrier reef (although I'm not sure that is the correct geographic feature) just off the panhandle of FL. It is about 24 miles east of Pensacola and 15 miles west of Fort Walton Beach. John Soehnlein-6th grade teacher
