The tulip bulbs planted in Fall, '96 emerged today. These are the "official" bulbs whose growth I'll track. Interestingly, the bulbs that were originally planted in Fall, '95 emerged 3 days ago, on 4/2/97. Their root development was greater last fall than those I planted for the first time. However, I'm noticing that those "1995" tulips have multiple stems, and look weak and spindly. Therefore, I don't expect them to flower as nicely.
