Finally! On April 1,1997 in Cedar Falls, Iowa our tulips have emerged!! We observed about 30 tulips emerging after we came back from the weekend. The temperature was 71. The measurement of the tallest emerging tulips was 5mm. The larger tulips had a redish green color while the others were redish brown. Since that day we have had a change of weather. Our average high temperatures for this week are in the 20's. We are also seeing some evidence of animals eating our tulips. Our tallest tulips are now 13 mm. and we presently have 54 tulips emerging.
