My wife Toni and I saw a faded monarch fly by the front of the car about 1:20 PM today. The winds were light from the SE (5-10 mph) and the temperature near 50 with mostly clear skies. The butterfly was moving in a N/NE direction about 3-4 meters above ground. Overnight lows were <28 F over much of the area. Only one milkweed sprout, about 1cm in height, has appeared as of 2:15 PM today in my milkweed garden.
