I was transplanting a few clumps of Hostas late this morning when I heard a Rose-Breasted Grossbeak calling from a tall tree in my hedgerow. It took me a few minutes to locate him visually! Here are my previous "1st sightings" of Rose-Breasteds at the same location: 8 May 1993-2 males and 1 female on my feeders 25 April 1994-1 male eating safflower seeds at one of my feeders 9 May 1995-2 males and 2 females eating safflower at the feeders 7 May 1996-1 male observed in a tall tree near my feeders
