Pair of loons arrived on my lake (Bennan) today, April 26th, with ice still on 1/4 of the lake. This is usual--they arrive the day the ice breaks up. I have had a breeding pair here for years. Lat 88 44" 30" Long. 46 3" 30" approximately or R36W T43N on Iron River, MI-Wisc US geological survey map. Bennan Lake is 44 acres and just west of Iron River.
