Hi. We saw numerous Monarchs (Danaus plexippus) at several sites on the Delmarva Peninsula 1, 2 and 3 May. Our first sightings were at Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware, on 1 May (20-plus butterflies in 3 hours). Additional sightings at Prime Hook NWR, Del.; and Blackwater NWR and Eastern Neck NWR, Md. First Orchard Oriole was at Eastern Neck NWR on 3 May. Monarchs were faded and somewhat tattered but flying strong with characteristically deep wingbeats.
