Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 06/04/1997

Number: 1

One monarch was recovered from the side of highway no.7 about 3 km east of the community of Madoc Ontario in the evening of June 4, 1997. The monarch was a male and appeared to be in good condition- wings were not tattered or showing signs of wear. Weather this week has been very warm with a slight breeze- there has been no rain for over a week. The lilacs are all at their peak in this area and there is plenty of nectar. We are now awaiting the arrival of our paper monarchs!
