Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 06/09/1997

Number: 1

2:15 p.m. My FIRST Monarch sighting of the season! The male monarch was flying alongside my neighbor's small prairie garden just outside my office window. Columbine is in bloom there, and we have very dry conditions. The temperature was 81 degrees, with gusty southeast winds, the monarch was traveling in a northerly direction, sky was clear and sunny. The wings were fresh.
