What a difference in two weeks! When I checked the milkweed at Presqu'ile two weeks ago, none had emerged and temperatures were below normal.Last week, temperatures warmed up to 70+ F for a number of days (while remaining cooler around the shoreline of Lake Ontario and water levels remain high). I returned yesterday (June 6th) to find all sorts of milkweed - as high as 20 cm.
June 5th - Laurie Milne, wife of Acting Assistant Park Superintendent Scott Milne, spotted a monarch in the town of Brighton.
