Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 06/20/1997

Number: 1

The female Oriole had showed up on June 20,1997 to feed at our hummingbird feeder. We put out oranges, and she stuck around for a few days. The male was spotted on June 4, two days later. Neither male or female has been seen since the 7th.

I live in a remote bush area. My property is in the township of Albanel, on Hwy 546, North of Hwy 17 and Iron Bridge. We are on the Triangle route, that runs from Blind River, to Iron Bridge to Elliot Lake. The forest has been logged for many decades. There are tremendous amounts of Red & White Pine, Spruce, Cedar and various hardwoods. The landmark that would pinpointed for our area would be Endikai Lake.

Most folks have never seen an Oriole around here, so we consider ourselves quite fortunate.
