This morning we observed one bright fresh monarch drifting fluttering and in no great hurry around and over the greenhouse we had exited. my friend, driver of our vehicle, seemed quite perplexed when i lept out of the van and ran around in circles after (she knew not what)my target. i was unable to view sex of bright visitor. milkweed in wild areas up ten-twelve inches in several unmowed fields i checked this week near serendipity gardens. i am keeping my area to within a three mile circle. this one monarch is first floating thru and within two miles of our gardens. no eggs yet at serendipity. the weather is stable and in seventies f. two days in row. mosquitoes are swarming today for their first display of season,and noticed dandelion seed heads are mature. expect more activity tomorrow and have my net close by for dr. brower's needs :)
