Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/02/1997

Number: 1

Our first sighting was in Charleston Provincial Park on Sunday June 29th. We were on a canoeing outing and saw this one in the park. The second sighting was in Ottawa on the bicycle path in Ottawa's greenbelt July 2nd about 7:00pm while out for a walk. The bicycle path is located south of the Queensway, north of Baseline road, between Maitland and Woodroffe. John Masters
(keep in mind that Ontario is a large land mass, and that these reports are hundreds of miles apart. Again it is interesting to note that monarchs were arriving in Northern Ontario about the same time, or earlier, than around the Great Lakes.) Courtesy of Don Davis
