The first sighting took place at 12:45 p.m. while sitting outside at the Sugar Creek Winery in St. Charles County. Several other species of butterflies were also visiting the flowers. Another monarch landed on the pink impatients at 3:15 p.m. for about 10 seconds. There was a slight breeze, sunny skies, and a temperature of 90 degrees.
