I am a resident of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Last year and this year I have enjoyed watching the thousands of Monarchs fly past my balcony. I live less than 50 feet from Lake Ontario, on the 5th floor of an apartment building. I can almost touch the butterflies as they glide past me. It is a wonderous sight to see. I first noticed them yesterday ( August 28/97) and they are still passing my balcony even now. Their numbers have tapered off today, but are still beautiful to watch. It is amazing how high they climb. I would love to know how they are able to find their way to Mexico, especially since they are the Grandchildren of the previous butterflies. It must be a spectacular sight to see in Mexico. Truly one of lifes miracles.
