Today is Monday, Sept. 15th. At 9:15 am we went to our butterfly garden and counted an average of 17 butterflies in a five minute period. During our counting we had a range of 3-30 butterflies spotted in the gardens. In our sample of 15 students we counted a total of 249 butterflies, but we realize we could have counted incorrectly because we have no way to determine differences in them. Friday afternoon it appeared that there were more butterflies in the area, but we don't have a count for that day.
