Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/17/1997

Number: 1

We are first graders and we saw an orange monarch butterfly hatch in a jar. At first it couldn't fly because his wings were crumbled. He had to sway to dry his wings. The extra red coloring was coming out of his wings. We saw his proboscis curled up. We let him go in our school courtyard. After we let him go he landed on a student's pants.
