I saw 5 monarchs between 5:40 and 6:00 pm CDT.
They were flying in a southwesterly direction at altitudes
of 20-50 feet above ground level. They were moving at
a moderate to rapid pace. I observed the monarchs
while driving in a northly direction in an urban area.
The temp was 77 degrees. Winds were N-NE at 10 MPH.
There was a clearing line running from SW to NE just to the
north of my observation point with clouds to the south.
I am excited about the Fall Monarch migration. To help
unpave the way I planted 7 buddleia bushes in August.
All but one is blooming. I also have several varieties
of milkweed planted for the upcoming fall migration
Happy MONARCH WATCHING.
