For the last two years, Centerpoint Elementary has been creating a prairie on our school grounds. This summer the entire praire was ablaze with monarchs. There were often 5 or 6 monarchs on the same plant. Prairie Blazing Star seems to be their food of choice. About a week ago, the butterflies disappeared. Now we have small numbers trickling through. We're glad these migrants are finding our beautiful nectar stop to help them on their difficult way.
