I've planted small gardens in 4 areas of my yard. (in town)
One garden 5'x12' is primarily milkweed that multiplies each year--90 or more plants this year. I also have coneflowers, 3 butterfly bushes, Sweet William, lantana, safflower, marigolds, yarrow, Queen Anne's lace, day lillies, dill, fennel and parsley.

Another garden 2 1/2 x 5 contains a butterfly bush, lantana, butterflyweed, black-eyed Susan, red verbena, nicotina, marigolds & red salvia. The remaining two gardens contain wild flower from seed such as bachelor buttons, cone flower, shasta daisies, as well as lantana and lavendar. We
also have an apple tree and pear tree in the yard. The gardens are so full of flower that they require very little care. I will water them when necessary.

Daily monarch visits, (weather permitting) beganin May, almost 2 months early this year. Each day I can find 5-10 monarch eggs. We've watched as the males circle the milkweed in wait of a mate and have seen male & female flyin
