Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/02/1997

Number: 1

This fall, the Grade 5-6 French Immersion class raised, tagged, and released 62 monarchs- 26 females and 35 males. Many were released September 4, Sept.15, Sept.18, and Oct.2. We still have one chrysalid. Our friend Don Davis reports that on Sept. 29 there were still many butterflies, and larvae as well in Presquile Park (a two hour drive east of Toronto Ontario). October 4 and 5 we had beautiful sunny, warm weather and many monarchs were observed throughout our area...watch for our monarch babies as they journey south!
