Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/07/1997

Number: 1

Students are having a blast monitoring the migration of the monarch. Language Arts classes wrote to the children of Mexico, while the Math/Science classes are charting the sightings. What a great integrating project! While at the deer camp last weekend, Wiley spoted 27 butterflies. He really never noticed them before, but this project has made him aware of the migration. Mannise spotted 12 at her grandmother's home. She used to catch them, but now she lets them fly to Mexico.
