Our second grade class had gone outide for recess in the afternoon when I began noticing a few butterflies. On a closer look, I could tell they were monarch butterflies. We continued watching them and more came through our area. It was quite exciting as this was the first time I had ever witnessed a migration of the monarchs. We are going to try to grow a butterfly garden beginning next spring if we are awarded the money from a grant.
