While bicycling along the Allegheny River on the evening of Sept.
12,1997 I saw an osprey fishing the shallow water on the opposite
side of the river in Lower Burrell, Pa. I first saw it over the
mouth of Chartiers Run. It then proceeded upriver and fished the
vicinity of Braeburn Beach. It then flew upriver past Lock & Dam
#4, and flew out of sight. Total observation time was ~5 min.
