Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/14/1997

Number: 1

Mrs. Allen, our reading teacher, reported seeing one Monarch in her mother's yard this past weekend. Monday's high temperature was in the upper 80's, with a cold front approaching. It rained last night and the temperature dropped to the low 60's. It was windy and cool today, with no Monarch sightings. Tonight we will have temperatures in the low 40's and low 60's are predicted for Wednesday. With the sightings of so many Monarch butterflies in northern Mexico and so few sighted here, I wonder if we have seen the last of them until spring.
