On Saturday, October 10, 1997, I made a trip to Long Beach Island, NJ. While on the beach, I counted 20 monarch butterflies
per hour passing by on the dunes. The monarchs were feasting on the goldenrod. While there we also saw several formations of snow geese and Canada geese heading south.
On October 13, we released our last monarch from school.
We also participated in the symbolic monarch butterfly migration
