Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/16/1997

Number: 1

Despite a low depth frost in our area the butterflies seem to be hanging on. Today at noon, I sighted a Monarch in the school wesr rose garden. Yesterday I also saw a Painted Lady and two Sulphers. My impression is that they are slow in making any moves. The weather today is supposed to reach in the high 60's and tomorrow in the 70's. This seems to be sustaining them. I am sure lots of folks are asking the same question----"What effect is El Nino having on this migration process?" Our science Dept. is studying the effects of the environment-- they are suddenly picking up my enthusiasm for the migration studies!
How can I find out who else in Colorado is participating in the tracking?
