Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/19/1997

Number: 1

We are a fifth grade science class in Brookline, MA at the Heath School. We raised 24 monarchs from the 5th instar stage. We took very good care of them, but sadly seven died. Of those, one was in the middle of pupating, one was a pupa, and the other were larvae.
We successfully released 17 monarchs, some of which were tagged. We released them from Sept. 30 to October 7, at our school.
Since then, we have seen many monarchs, especially on the soccer field. The most recent were on Oct. 18 and 19. Please let us know if tagged monarchs from SK392 - SK415 are found!!!
Sincerely,

Heath School Fifth Graders
