It is a beautiful fall day in Oklahoma City, OK. Temperature is 66, light north wind, and sunny. Hasn't rained for several days but rain is in the forecast for tomorrow. Tulips were Emperor's from Netherland Bulb Co (They shipped mixed colors, as red were unavailable). The planting localtion is about 20' from the west side of the house between two newly planted butterfly bushes. They are blocked on the north by lilac bushes and redbud trees. but it is open all other directions. There are cottonwood trees between the house and planting site that are 40' tall. We have not covered the bed with mulch as yet since a hard freeze is not in sight. The bulbs were planted about 7" deep and 4" apart in soft, loamy soil. The date is October 20, 1997....
