Plantings include several varities of planted and free floating plants. Eight large grasses circle the water garden to provide protection from the elements. Birds, animals from mice to deer use the pond as a source of drinking water. The most unusual sighting thus far was a blue herron on 10/19/97. Fortunately, the pool comets are very fast swimmers. Seven bird feeders, each with a different offering offer food supplements to the birds during the fall, winter, and spring.
