We planted 100 Red Emperor tulips October 21,1997.
The weather is cool and windy and tomorrow it might snow. We planted them 8 inches away from each other and 7 inches under the dirt. We also added bone meal in the hole. The bulb which looks like a large hershey kiss, is a dark red and the point of it is facing up. If it was not facing up it would not grow. Then we added a little cup of clear water. Then when the ground freezes we will add straw on top of them for winter mulch.
