The Sixth Grade at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School (please note this is a new school for me) planted 150 emperor tulip bulbs 4" apart, 7" deep, on Tuesday, October 21, 1997, on the grounds of the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank. We did this as a sort of give-back to the bank, who supported us with a $5000 grant to purchase computers so that we could participate in the Journey North. The site we selected has good sun, is between the bank and a local store, and was simply a lawn before we planted there. We hope to have a field of magnificent red tulips there in the spring!
