Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/23/1997

Number: 1

The third and fourth grade students at Donoho School saw a pair of Monarch butterflies this Thursday on the playground. They were feeding off the wildflowers in the woods around the school grounds. We are seeing fewer Monarchs now. We are anxious to see if any will remain here for the winter, since we read on the Journey North website that some Monarchs might stay in the Gulf States during the winter.
