We made a second planting of Emporer Tulips, mixed colors. In Oklahoma City it is clear, cool and sunny, 55-60* with little to no wind. This planting was on the south side of the house about 25' from the foundation. It gets full sun about 7-8 hours a day. There is a pine tree on the west side of the bed about 10' away, that shade the late afternoon sun. The bulbs were planted 6" deep and 4" apart in a mass planting. We put bone meal mixed with soil in the bottom and after planting a top dressing of cottonseed compost was added. No mulch as yet.
