Our 50 tulips were planted on 10/17/97. We chose a circular, grassy area near a small stream on our school's 30 acre Arboretum. The dirt was spaded up, tulips were planted according to specifications, and about 2 inches of mulch and chicken wire were used to cover the bed. About a week after planting we received a 2 inch rain. The bed will receive very light shade in the late afternoon.
