We are in the midst of the see-saw weather that makes Denver so much fun. The animals seem to have the rough part. We have had many Robins still in the area. They just don't seem to want to go. These are the smaller ones who do migrate away. We still will have several of the large Western birds who will stay on our campus all winter. They seem quite content to hide in the large conifer trees and feast on the frozen apples and grapes.
One of the faculty members who lives a block from school was visited by a Mourning Cloak in his garden. This was after a very deep frost and muliple inches of snow.
No Monarchs reported by anyone at the school
I am still wondering how I can obtain the information regarding what other Colorado schools are participating in this program?
