Signs of Fall

Date: 11/23/1997

Number: 1

On the way to Halifax on Sunday (Nov.23) I spotted an American Bald Eagle floating over the major highway near the university town of Wolfville.
Every fall near this time, eagles that have summered in the highlands of Cape Breton, return to the Annapolis Valley with thier new offspring to winter in the
Canning area. Hundreds of them fill the trees like black ornaments. Winter has been made easy for them for years now due to the local handouts of the
poultry farmers. If the Americans reading have had their heart sing at the sight of one Bald Eagle, they should visit the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia
between November and March and see thousands of the great birds. They are quite stunning.

El Ñino has brought snow to us early this year beginning Nov. 8th about the same time my Maple lost the last
of it's leaves!
