This is the earliest we can recall for ice out at the Maple River Flooded area 8 miles north of St. Johns. In '95 the tundra swans were there by March 15. In '96 and '97 ice still there until at least first week of April, & T. swans stopped that first week. Hope to go look for them this weekend. Robin Ballard.
