I thought I heard a robin's song on Valentine's Day, but I wasn't sure. The next day I saw several robins. February 14 seemed to be a turning point around here. I swatted at my first mosquitoes on that day and I began to notice buds on elder bushes. I have cleaned and filled my hummingbird feeders. Last year I saw my first rufous hummingbird in late February.
