All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 02/28/1998

Number: 1

Our village, Selawik, is located south of the Brooks Mountains in northwest Alaska. We can provide a little information about caribou migration. Deering, a village south and west of us is on the northern side of the Seward Peninsula. Some of the men from our village have gone to Deering and to Nearby Buckland to hunt caribou. Herds of caribou are bunching up. Some groups are moving on warm days in our direction. The main migration has not yet started. bill hague, teacher in Selawik
