Tulips EMERGED

Date: 02/12/1998

Number: 1

We saw our tulips emerging already! We were very surprised to see the green leaves this early in the year. Even though we have had a very mild winter, it was still a surprise. Our tulips are located next to the library on the north and south side. There is a big picture window on both sides of the library so the tulips can be seen very easily by all the students who use the library. The tulips on both sides of the building are the same height right now. Our weather in February was unseasonably mild with temperatures well above normal for a period of 21 days. The temperature got as high as 58 degrees the week of Feb. 15th. Our temperatures so far this March have been closer to and below normal so we are worried our tulips will not survive if we get real cold weather. Today and yesterday it snowed!
