Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/03/1998

Number: 1

On Tuesday, March 3, 1998 I observed two tulips had emerged in the third grade Journey North garden at Murch School. They are tulips that were planted by Mrs. Wigglesworth's class. One tulip's leaves measured about 5 cm. The other tulip was about 1 cm. The leaves appeared to be deep green in color. A red stripe was noted on the taller leaf which ran in a vertical line. On this day I did not observe tulips having emerged in Ms. Schafer's or my garden (Mrs. Cunningham). The weather was cloudy and cool. We have experienced lots of rain since January, approximately 10 inches! Recently, it rained an inch over the past weekend. I also observed lots of little plants like chickweed in the garden.
