Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Mid-Coast of Texas: Monarch female laying eggs on Asclepias curassavica at 3:30 pm. Netted and tagged her at 3:45. Wings in good shape but much of the surface coloring was brushed off as if scratched. Visited all the A.c. stems every 15 to 20 minutes ... examined one and found four new eggs. At 5:00 she was nectoring on the purple lantana. 76 degrees/clear/Wind: 5-7 mph SW. Harlen
