I thought you might be interested in an uaual sign of spring that I look forward to each year. A local Houston newspaper columnist and author, Leon Hale, goes "looking for spring" each year for the last 21 yrs. This year was Primavera XXI. His measurement of when spring arrives is when the mesquite trees start leafing out. No other plants leaves count. So he drives south about this time each year on his search. He "found spring" this year on March 4th in Agua Dulce, Texas. He figures spring moves north about 10 miles a day. How long before it reaches you?!
