Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/14/1998

Number: 1

Mid-Coast of Texas: Monarchs continue to visit our backyard milkweed to lay eggs and nector on the lantana. Since mid-December we have netted and tagged 5 females (seen many others) and have harvested over 110 Monarch eggs (3 A.c. plants) plus a dozen young larvae. Our 4th graders raise, tag, and release these over-wintering, local Monarchs. Just returned from "spring break" and many milkweed leaves seem to be missing. Harlen
