Sixteen of fifty tulips as of 3/16 had emerged. The planting site is approximately 7400 feet above sea level and has been in shade during much of the day until recently. A large mesh wire cage has been placed over most of the planting site to prevent deer from browsing on the leaves. Fresh deer tracks were observed the day we made our observations.
