Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/01/1998

Number: 1

While on a birding trip to south Texas we sighted a monarch in the Santa Ana Refuge near McAllen, Texas on February 23 and on February 28 sighted four more monarchs in the Aransas Wildlife Sanctuary. I don't know if these would be considered overwintering Monarchs or not since we were just visiting the area. SOURCE: Monarch Watch
